A Breath Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device(BAIID) is a device installed in a vehicle that measures a driver’s breath alcohol content. Users must provide the BAIID with a passing breath sample in order to start their vehicle. Some states, like Michigan and Wisconsin (starting Oct. 2022), require a BAIID to capture the image of the driver as they perform the breath test to identification purposes.
Who receives a BAIID and why?
BAIIDs are required for DUI offenders in most states. Depending on your state’s regulations, you may be required to install a BAIID in your vehicle after a first or consecutive alcohol-related traffic conviction.

How does a BAIID work?
Once the BAIID is installed, the driver must provide a passing breath sample to start the vehicle. They must also provide breath samples randomly throughout the trip. Any person driving the vehicle, regardless of driving history, must use the BAIID. The device records the results of each trip.
What to expect with your BAIID installation:
-Convient service center locations
-Same day installation
-Transparent pricing
-Friendly and thorough device training by technicians
-Testing cues and appt reminders provided by the BAIID
